CANNABIS REMOVED FROM THE WEHO RESIDENTIAL SMOKING BAN

Great news! On Monday night, the West Hollywood City Council removed cannabis from the proposal to ban smoking in multi-unit housing. It also removed vaping of both cannabis and nicotine.

The vote was 3-2, with Councilmembers John Duran, John D’Amico, and Lauren Meister voting to remove cannabis from the ban on smoking in apartments and condos. Mayor Lindsey Horvath and Mayor Pro Tempore John Heilman voted against removing cannabis.

The City Council may circle back to the issue in about a year to consider whether to adopt a more narrowly tailored approach to cannabis smoke in multi-unit housing.

Many thanks to everyone who took the time to reach out and to spread the word!
